The NextGen Pulse Radar is a true close range pulse radar with a range resolution better than 10 cm, a range up to 25 m and a pulse width of 0.5 nanno-seconds.
The system operates with the SkyRadar FreeScopes Software which provides many scopes (A-Scopes, B-Scopes, PPI), control interfaces and filters. Customers can start small and extend the application over time, just by purchasing and downloading additional modules in our portal. The radar allows for highest flexibility in the learning process, with a very low peak pulse output power (-0.7 to 6.3 dBm).
The radar transceiver is mounted into the horn antenna and can be connected alternatively to a parabolic reflector. The antennas are hardwired on the transceiver card. The transceiver is connected to a microcomputer for Digital Signal Processing. The device can be placed on a rotary tripod. This system has been developed for training and research in civil aviation, universities and industry. It does not include any special military feature.
The base unit of the SkyRadar Modular Radar Training System provides a fully operational close range radar.
Technically, the SkyRadar Base Module is based on a pulsed noise radar. It is operable in Doppler and Pulse mode. The SkyRadar Base Module allows for experiments ranging from basic working principles like validating the radar equation to most complex radar scenarios. The system operates with the SkyRadar FreeScopes Software which provides many scopes (A-Scopes, B-Scopes, PPI), control interfaces and filters. The module allows for highest flexibility in the learning process, while providing high-resolution at close distance with an electro-magnetic emission of a small fraction of that of a mobile phone.
The FMCW base module of the SkyRadar Modular Radar Training System provides a fully operational close and near range radar. The FMCW radar operates with one antenna (array/horn) and provides applications as FMCW mode, Doppler, etc.
The FreeScopes software allows for comfortable control of the system, providing multiple ways of visualization such as FMCW Fast Fourier Transform, Doppler, IF Signals or the VCO Ramp. The software also provides calculation and visualization for the Synthetic Aperture Radar extension.
This training tool has been developed for training and research in civil aviation, universities and industry. It does not include any special military features.
The SAR Module is an extension of the FMCW base module. A step-motor-controlled linear axis allows movement of the transceiver and antenna and thus produces radar images with defined time-stamps and positions for SAR operations. SAR aggregates the data in a time-multiplex approach. SAR allows producing resolutions which go far beyond results of a normal antenna.
Automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) is a surveillance technology for tracking aircraft as part of the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen). ADS-B makes flying significantly safer for the aviation community. This ADS-B live module tracks real ADS-B squitter signals in the sky, and with the help of a sophisticated simulation, it augments the received set of data and complements it with Mode A, C and S interrogation signals.
The SkyRadar PSR & SSR Simulator is part of SkyRadar’s modular Radar Training System. It can be added plug-and-play to the CloudServer and is operated through SkyRadar’s FreeScopesSoftware. It includes the simulators on Pulse, CW, FMCW, SAR, eSAR, SSR, ADS-B, TCAS and more.
A comfortable pseudo-pilot screen allows to set the scene and to place aircraft (with different positions, speed and height) in the sky. An unlimited number of concurrent Controller Work Positions (CWP) can analyze primary and secondary radar images through scopes like A-Scopes, B-Scopes or PPI-scopes.
SkyRadar’s tower simulator is a comprehensive training environment for ATCO and ATSEP training. It comprises 3D & 2D Tower and Ground (TWR, GND), En-route (ACC), Approach (APP) and Terminal Manoeuvring Area (TMA) operations as well as SMGCS and more.
The solution is based on the most up-to-date legislation and requirements by ICAO, EUROCONTROL and under the rules of the National Regulations (ICAO Documents, Annexes) and CNS / ATM Standards and recommendations; complemented by valuable educational tools for high training efficiency. The solution represents an operational ATC / ATM System connected to a powerful simulator.
The RASS-S Training System allows to study the operations and servicing of the radar systems applied in conjunction with the Radar Analysis Support System for Sites (RASS-S). The system is ideal for the training of service personnel in the fields of ICAO- & EASA-based ATSEP training programs (qualification training, unit training, continuation training). In particular on-the-job-training (unit & continuation) is made possible. SkyRadar makes use of standard RASS-S equipment extended by a didactical radar training environment. It is technically impossible for an ANSP (Air Navigation Service Provider) to do that kind of training on an operational system without disturbing or even endangering its operations.
